WHAT YOU WILL NEED -

20 oz. (approx. 4 cups) White Chocolate Chips
2 tbsp shortening
Blue & Pink food colorings
A microwave safe container & spoon (not plastic)
Fruits & Pretzels
12-Granny Smith Apple Wedges
12-Strawberries w/leaves, large
12-Pretzels (large pretzel rods or twists)
Cookie sheet
Parchment Paper or wax paper

Put the white chocolate chips and shortening into 2 separate heatproof medium bowls. Fill 2 medium saucepans with a couple inches of water and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Turn off the heat; set the bowls of chocolate over the water to melt. Stir until smooth. Alternatively, melt the chocolates and shortening in a microwave at half power, for 1-2 minutes, stir and then heat for another minute or until melted. Remove from heat.

Mix in food colorings until you get the desired color of pink and blue.

Dip your fruits/ pretzels in the heated chocolate. Allow them to drip for a moment. Try to be quick, the chocolate hardens fast! Tips: Be sure fruits are dry before dipping them.

Line a sheet pan with parchment or waxed paper. Place the chocolate covered fruits/pretzels on it and allow the chocolate to set, about 30 minutes. You may also chill them in the refrigerator.

Transfer to serving platter and enjoy!

For added varieties, you may also use other fruits, ie. bananas, cherries with stems, pears, kiwi, pineapple wedges.
