A Plethora of Celebrity Baby Shower Cakes

There are baby shower cakes and there are celebrity baby shower cakes. Now, while there are a few that are easily adapted to a more usual baby shower, there are some that are out of this world when it comes to price and extravagance. Let's take a look at both kinds here:

Actress Minnie Driver had a very simple baby shower at a friend's house. With a light snack of finger sandwiches and cake, the highlight of the celebration was a simple berry cake that can be adapted to any baby shower.

Celebrity Brooke Burke had a blue baby shower at the Treehouse Social Club in Beverly Hills. Everything was blue, including the cupcakes that were served instead of cake at this very intimate celebration with family and close friends.

Actress Marisol Nichols had an eye-catching, unusual cake. Instead of the usual tiered rounds, her cake was in the shape of baby blocks, and all together, the 6 blocks spelled “Girl Baby” and were decorated in multiple colors. Something not run off the mill for a different type of mommy-to-be.

Britney Spears had another unusual cake. To go with her Moroccan themed baby shower, the Princess of Pop had a cake in the shape of a Moroccan urn with a baby peeking out from inside! That was something that caught everyone's attention, indeed.

Party magnate Sean “P. Diddy” Coombs threw a “Pretty in Pink” extravaganza for his twin princesses and had a whopper of a tiered cake done all in pink with gold filigree and highlights in edible gold leaf. The tiered cake was covered with flowing fondant bows and topped with little pink roses.

Kourtney Kardashian had a smallish baby shower held poolside in Los Angeles. For her cake, Courtney thought of her guests as well as herself. Her cake actually had two flavors – one with vanilla and fresh berry filling and the other a red velvet cake with cream cheese filling. The 100-pound cake reveals its surprising mix as soon as it is cut and allows the guest to pick and choose their favorites.

Baby Phat CEO and designer Kimora Lee Simmons had a baby shower for the little boy she and her husband were expecting. The cake was a truly pretty blue and white round three-tier with a little teddy bear waving from the top. Alternating blue and white striped fondant frosting with a decorated blue and white tier keeps the cake looking very baby boy-ish and interesting.

Black Eyed Pea Taboo and his wife Jaymie celebrated their little baby boy with a culturally mixed Filipino and Mexican wedding. This blue and brown themed celebrity baby shower had cakes – not just one! There were chocolate, strawberry, red velvet, yellow cakes, white cakes, and Cuban style cakes to make everyone happy.

Another celebrity baby shower took everyone over the rainbow at Nicole Richie-Madden's celebrity baby shower. The Wizard of Oz themed shower had a cake as the highlight – a three-tiered “wizard green” iced cake topped with the ruby slippers and accented with Dorothy's picnic basket. Flanking the eye-catching cake was a whole stand of yellow cupcakes covered in multicolored sugar roses.
